Stuart's Notes

Gold Class…

I thought I’d share this blazer with you because of the decision to choose gold buttons. I very rarely put on gold buttons but I thought this particular client could pull it of and I thought it would be kind of kitsch in an ironic way. I didn’t want a flat uninteresting button so decided on a slightly domed fleur de lys.

A couple of other points to note are the turn-back cuffs – and the wide peak lapels that are all the rage.

The cloth, as I recall, is a beautiful cashmere from Caccioppoli. The jacket is for a customer in the US and I can imagine him wearing it with quite striking colours – a red or green cotton or cord. And, of course, it would look really cool with jeans or grey flannels.
