Stuart's Notes

Petrol Blue Coat

This is a single-breasted three-button coat that’s part of a suit. The cloth is a 9oz wool and cashmere mix and has a really soft handle. It actually feels heavier due to the fact it's a closer weave. There's just that extra density to it.

Almost petrol-blue in colour, what’s perhaps not evident from first glance is that there’s a very faint blue check in the cloth.

It’s a traditional coat, possessing a little more drape on the chest than other jackets that I make - but has still got plenty of shape.

Zoom in on the buttons and you’ll notice they are a blue-striped pearl. One other thing, the coat has been cut with a single vent as opposed to side-vents. It’s felt that a single vent can offer a flattering shape around the seat.
